This is a short critique on Persian translation of Gilbert Lazard's 'La Formation de la Langue Persane', that is translated to Persian by Mahasti Bahrainni and is published by Hermes publication in Tehran. The book contains some articles on the oldest texts of early Persian especially on formation of Persian language in 11 and 12 century in north eastern Iran and the varieties of Persian firstly spoken in Iran in this period. The book also concentrates on dialectology of old early Persian texts and the linguistic features of the texts that reflect regional features of Persian varieties. There are also some articles on Judeo-Persian texts of early Persian that Lazard believes they reflects the regional features of Persian varieties. The last article of the book is about an evaluation of Arabic loanwords in early Persian books and shows that the percentage of the loanwords are varied from 24 to 40 percent and no change is seen in percentage of Arabic loanword in Persian from 7 century to colloquial Persian.
