Abstract
This short paper aims to review a book by Ali Darzi on Syntactic Argumentation published by Samt publication. In doing so, the merits and a few shortcomings of the book are detected and discussed. The findings suggest that the merits of the book include obeying the conditions governing writing and readability, use of up-to-date references, use of exercises at the end of every chapter, focusing on the Persian structures, avoiding complicated syntactic accounts in most sections, adequacy of literature review prior to syntactic analyses. On the other hand, the remarkable difference among topics with respect to the degree of complexity, devoting a few sections to irrelevant topics, use of an out-of date theory as the theoretical framework, use of uncommon equivalents for a few technical terms, and providing a few challenging evidence and descriptions can be regarded as the shortcomings worth of considering.
